Automatic Flushing Toilets Rock! (And other misc stuff)

I apologize for it being so long since my last update, but since I only have dial-up at home, it’s a pain to blog on that slow of a connection. So, here I am finally blogging now that I’m at school and on a high-speed connection.

I returned from camp August 13. It was cool because on the way home I got to Uncle Reuben and the fam, Grandpa and Grandma Unseth, Aaron and Gretchen (w00t!), and Uncle Andy. The next day after getting home I took Isaac back up to Oak Hills Christian College. My cousin Rachel tagged along–which was cool since we haven’t spent much time together in our lifetime. We had some good conversation’s on the return trip home.

During the next couple weeks I was at home I spent a lot of time hanging out with friends and catching up on what happened over the summer (which was quite a bit). My last night home (Thursday, August 24, 2006) before heading for Emmaus, I had a sweet bonfire at my house. It was really cool to see all my friends before I headed off. Especially since I’m not sure when the next time will be that I’ll be seeing them since some of them are going off to college this fall as well so our breaks may not coincide. But yea, the bonfire was definitely fun. Dusty is e-mailing me some pictures soon, so I’ll probably put at least some of those on my Flickr account–and probably post some in here as well. There were definitely some memories made at that bonfire :)
So anyways, Friday, August 25, I packed up the van and my parents and I headed for Dubuque, Iowa. We stopped at my grandparents for the night. Then we headed out once again early Saturday morning arriving at Emmaus about 11:30. Got through registration and moved in all my stuff into my room (same room as last semester as well as the same roommate…w00t!). One thing I didn’t realized I missed so much until I got back to EBC was the auto-flushing toilets in the bathrooms. They are so awesome! It’s a lazy man’s dream come true. But it does develop some bad habits for when you’re at locations that don’t have such luxuries.
This last weekend I was actually kinda bored because I was kind of anxious to get a start on the school year. I was actually looking forward to classes starting–which they did today. The three classes I’ve had so far aren’t bad, and my classes tomorrow should be fun as well–so it’s looking like it will be a pretty sweet semester.

I’ve decided to head down the MCSE Track for my B.A. Computer Information Systems degree. MCSE stands for Microsoft Certified Software Engineer which basically means you know how to operate all of Microsoft’s software and can do a lot of stuff. I can pretty much get a pretty good job out of college with that kind of certification.

Tonight for supper, me and three friends went to a chinese restaurant for supper. I had a huge plate of sweet and sour pork. It was good–but the after effects were not. For the three hours after eating, I had severe stomach/chest pain. It was really weird–and painful. Not to be to graphic in description, but I did go sit on the toilet for a while–which kind of helped, but not really. Then I drank some green tea, which did help some more. Then I went and layed in my bed in the fetal position (which reduced the pain a lot) and laid there for awhile. I think I may have dozed off for a little bit, but not long. After that I felt pretty much back to normal.

It is now a little after 11:00pm, and I’m pretty tired. I went to bed last night at midnight but couldn’t fall asleep until after 2:00am. Tonight, it should be much easier to fall asleep since I’m already tired enough.

Well, I’m gonna eat some Fruity Pebbles and then get to bed hopefully by midnight–but not before watching at least one more episode of 24 (the bestest TV show of all-amazing-time).
