It’s a Saturday

So I went to bed at 4am this morning and slept till 1pm this afternoon. I got up and checked my email, websites, etc. About 2pm, I started cleaning the dishes which had been backed up for a few days. After getting the dishes done, I cleaned up the counters and appliances. I also rearranged some stuff in the kitchen to give us more room.  Later in the afternoon I went to Wal-mart and purchased numerous items including food, hygiene, and cleaning–aka the necessities.

I returned home later in the evening and “grilled” (using our George Foreman) two hamburgers, drank green tea, and watched four hours of season one of Jericho.

In other exciting news, all my websites hosted on my Dreamhost account got moved to a new server and upgraded my account to a Virtual Private Server. Now all my static websites load a lot faster. The ones that have to perform database lookups (such as this blog) aren’t really much faster because the MySQL server is still in a shared environment. If I were to develop a more important website that depended more upon a DB, I would also upgrade to a VPS for my DB server to help speed things up.

In other more exciting news, my girlfriend is arriving in Dubuque late tonight. Depending on when she gets here, I’m not sure if I’ll get to see her tonight, but at least I’ll get to hang with her tomorrow.
