Funny Story

So for at least the last week–probably longer–the internet has been really slow here at camp. I’ve been working on it everyday trying to figure out what the problem was. I figured out that the problem was definitely only at the office, but still didn’t know what it was. I had looked at all the settings on the routers and everything and it was all correct. Finally, I came to the conclusion that it must be a computer on the network that is slowing it down. Possibly one of the computers in the office had a virus or something that was sending and recieving data constantly, thus slowing down our internet speed. So I decided to start with my computer. I first took a look at my network traffic (ctrl+alt+delete > “Networking” tab) and I noticed that I had a high rate of constant traffic from my computer. I thought this was kinda wierd, so I closed all the programs that were running that might be accessing the internet. Yet my traffic was still high. So I went to my list of processes and discovered that my bittorrent program was running–even though I had closed it. I’m not sure how the process had started, but it had. So after I closed that, the internet immediately sped up. It was amazingly awesome, and has been so ever since. So yea, I’m happy.
