Well, it’s Saturday. Yesterday ended a 20 day streak of continuous camp. Even though two of those weeks haven’t been terribly busy, it still takes a toll on you not to get at least one day off once a week.
This past week was technically 3rd-5th grade week, but it’s all from one church. They provided some counselors, but we were still busy. It wasn’t as busy of a week for me in terms of general responsibilities–primarily due to the fact that one of their staff was taking pictures all week, so that freed me from that responsibility. There were still different times throughout the week though were it got really busy. The weather wasn’t very cooperative either. Thursday was the worst. In the afternoon we had a huge thunder/rain storm that, in less than two hours, dumped over 2″ of rain on us. It also knocked out the power for almost 2 hours. During that storm, we also thought we had a missing camper and so we started checking buildings around camp (during the power outage and insanely heavy rains). It turned out that the camper was in the chapel with the rest of the group the whole time, but had just been in the bathroom. Phew.
I finally got my wicked sweet 17″ LED light bar, which is mounted (via magnets) on Dexter. It’s soooooo amazingly awesome. I’ll post pictures and videos of it soon.
Last night, Michael W., Dave, Ryan and I went down to the bottom of the nearby dam and hung out down on the rocks next to the river for awhile. It was fun, relaxing, etc.
This morning has been spent getting the new software update installed on my iPod Touch, playing with those new features, organizing/cleaning my desk, uploading more pictures to the camp website, and right now I’m working on importing the video footage that I’ve taken from the past few weeks. It has to capture in real-time, so it takes awhile. Once I get all the footage onto my computer, I’ll edit and output a few videos. The primary ones will be from the H.S. week talent show, and some of the skits that we do each night with the kids. I’ll be posting them on YouTube, but I’ll provide links here.
Dexter is still running great. Life is going well. I’m healthy. Nonetheless, prayer is always appreciated.
