Young Adult – Hickory Cove Bible Camp
It’s Young Adult camp week. This is pretty much the best week of my year, every year. It’s a great way to end the summer. There’s 16 people here this week, with the majority of them being people that have worked here this summer. It’s a very relaxed week full of fun.
Chuck Myers is speaking this week. He, his wife, and Joel came down. We’re doing an inductive study of the book of Ephesians. Chuck is not only a great guy, but also a great speaker and I’m really looking forward to it.
Last night we played ultimate frisbee at about 9:30pm. We had frisbee with a little light on it, so we could see that, but it was hard to see people on the field, so distinguishing your teammates was a challenge. Thankfully the only injuries we had consisted of Kevin running into the fence and hurting his ribs, and then me colliding with a player. I guess he was fine. I got a small cut on my big toe (he was wearing metal cleats), and I think it was his shoulder that went into the inside of my leg right above my right knee. It didn’t hurt all that bad at the moment, but this morning my leg is really sore.
Wednesday we’re heading up to Virginia where we will go lazy tubing down a river. Horseback riding will also be available for a little bit, but due to the extra cost, I’m not sure how many people will actually do it. After tubing, we will be going to a home along the Blue Ridge Pkwy and have a meal and our evening session there before heading back to camp.
Lauren still hasn’t had her baby, although she’s pretty much due any day now.
I need to get Dexter into the shop for a quick alignment and tire balancing. He also needs an oil change before I head out for Texas.
