Job News
After only four months into my nine month internship with Midland Bible Church, I have been offered a full time position as part of the TechKnow Monks (the ministry whom I’m currently working for during my internship). I had an inkling this offer was going to happen, but I didn’t expect it this soon. If I accept, I’ll move from intern status to full-time staff as of January 1, 2009.
I came into Midland with the intent of being here 9 months and then moving to North Carolina to serve full-time at Hickory Cove Bible Camp. It appears as though God has different plans. Interesting thing is, exactly one week ago, I was having an overwhelming debate in my head about whether God wants me here in Texas or North Carolina. This was all going on while I was in my Perspectives on the Christian World Movement class, that I’m auditing at the local college. After the three hour class was done, I sat in my car and cried out to God, begging for a clear answer and peace of mind. Ever since Tuesday night, I have had a certain calmness about staying in Midland. Then comes today, where I receive the job offer. Although not 100% yet, I feel as though Midland, TX is where God wants me.
I plan to take another few days to continue to pray about this decision, and I will covet (in a Christian way) any prayers and insight you may have.
For Hickory Cove Bible Camp and everyone I know through it, I want you to know that I love you all dearly. If I end up not returning to HCBC this summer, it will be big bummer, but I also know that God will provide another geek, another person to make “your mom” jokes, and overall, just another awesome person. And fear not, for I shall visit.
