Yesterday, one of my coworkers was really sick and stayed out of the offices all day. While that was good for him and probably the rest of us, I still managed to catch part of the nasty stomach bug he had. I started to feel it Wednesday evening, and couldn’t fall asleep until about 4am, Thursday morning. Needing to rest, plus not wanting to spread the joy, I’m staying home today. The great thing about my job is that work can be done even while away from the office, so I’ve still managed to work on some projects between naps. Currently, I’m sitting outside on the cement patio at the back of my house in a tshirt, shorts, and sandals. It’s currently 81 degrees, and clear skies. This is why I love Texas. If I was trying to do this in Minnesota, I would just get more sick.

There’s a game night happening this evening at a friends house, but I don’t think I’ll be going to that. I don’t want to give a bunch of other people this bug—so I’ll just stay in my room and work on various other projects, and maybe play some video games.

I can’t believe tomorrow is already Friday. This week has really flown by. Friday evening Midland Bible Church is having a free dinner + movie (and free babysitting). They will be showing the movie, Fireproof. I was asked to run the sound for the movie since I’m the only non-married sound tech, thus allowing the other guys to watch the movie with their wives.

Depending on how I feel, I might be going out to Triple L Ranch on Saturday morning to help other guys from the church clear a bunch of mesquite. Then of course, Saturday afternoon will be spent playing some ultimate frisbee.

Early this week I purchased plane tickets for my trip in April. Around Easter, I will be flying to San Diego to visit Aaron, Gretchen, and Ethan (Isaac will be there as well), and then I’m flying up to San Francisco to visit my grandparents, whom I don’t think I’ve seen in at least two years. I’ll fly back from CA on my birthday. As much as I love driving around the country with Dexter, my 4500 mile adventure a few weeks ago has left me with no desire to spend another 40 hours in the car. Dexter is disappointed, as he would love to see California, but thankfully he is a very understanding car.

In case you don’t know, I hate preparing food for myself—but I also don’t want to eat out all the time, thus causing quite a dilemma. This basically results in me losing weight because I don’t eat as much, but as long as I stay alive, that’s all that matters to me. I’m still getting adjusted to having to feed myself again, so I haven’t been doing well lately (pretty much I’ve just eaten a lot of frozen pizza this week), but that will change as I get more used to my routine (and as I get hungrier).
