Greetings From the Summer Camp Team!
Dear All, Greetings from the Volga river camp! We have 28 kids and many of them have put their trust in Christ, praise God! The Gospel has been presented in many creative ways by pastor Timor, Olga, Roma, Nina. The adults as well as the campers really want to learn English, it makes it fun for the “linguists!” The guys are doing a great job as “sport makers!” Everybody loves them. Eiach of the three teams compete at everything they do. Andy and Louie have given their testimonies during the evening sessions. We join in campfire time each night as “international guests” They have many questions and our translators Sveta, Reilya, Kostya, and Grisha are doing a fantastic job! We have grown to love them all. Tonight is the big volleyball championship. Winners will play the staff, they can’t wait! The staff wait on us and all meals are prepared over a campfire even though it’s 100 degrees outside. They serve hot tea, cookies, and coffee after every meal and for snacks, … and lots of bread. They express tremendous gratitude for us being here and the kids are very surprised at two babushkas (Grandmas) that play with them. The bathroom is the pits, “literally.” My, what we take for granted! Our one water bottle each is a treasure. We refill it with filtered well water that has been brought in. The glorious cold Volga river has been a daily blessing and reprieve! Thank you for all your prayers, there have been many answers to too many things to tell you here, but we’ll share them when we get home, oh blessed home! Love to all, Andy, Caleb, Lisa, and Louie PS. We suspect Caleb is part Russian!
